Force Diagrams
When generating Force Diagrams as well as qualatative diagrams it is imporant to remember a few things:
Fgrav= (mass)(10 N)
SOHCAHTOA
Sine= opposite/hypoteneuse
Cosine= adjacent/hypotenuese
Tangent= opposite/adjacent
Parallel components are all equal
Perpendicular components are all equal
In this unit we are only studying balanced forces therefore when drawing a force diagram you must indicate the equal forces either by placing equality marks on said forces. Or by writing Fnet=0 on the side of the diagram.
